At the Pool We’ve All Got Bodies
At the Pool We’ve All Got Bodies, is a collection of relentlessly personal poems and short stories that celebrate the imperfect. The incongruity of family histories, the asymmetry of the creative process, and the instability of our bodies themselves, are all lifted up with a kind of joyful realism.
First released in 2011, At the Pool was well received and stocked by local Vancouver stores, quickly necessitating a second (and third!) run of printing. Re-released in 2020, the collection was redesigned—new type, new layout, many new images, and a number of new poems added to this second edition. The re-release also includes a stunning essay and foreword written by Hillary McBride.
